Signature acquired the rights to construct the first FBO at St. Lucia's Hewanorra International Airport as part of last year's purchase of IAM Jet Centre. Recognizing the latter's strong name recognition in the Caribbean, the new facility will be known as IAM Jet Centre by Signature.

Signature Flight Support announced the opening of its newest facility, a brand-new FBO at St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport. The debut follows Signature’s purchase last summer of IAM Jet Centre, which two months earlier been granted permission to begin construction of the first FBO at the Caribbean airport. Previously private aircraft passengers were required to arrive and depart through the airport’s commercial airline terminal.

The 7,000-sq-ft facility, which will operate under the IAM Jet Centre by Signature brand, is a standalone terminal including a security screening checkpoint for passengers and luggage, in-house customs and immigration processing, guest shower facilities, a trio of private lounges capable of accommodating large groups, and a crew rest area. The FBO can handle large commercial aircraft, and it will offer Signature’s Elite Class service program, which allows commercial passengers to bypass the commercial terminal and enjoy the FBO experience before boarding their flights.

“Our expansion of the IAM/Signature network to St. Lucia demonstrates the expertise and trust attributed to the IAM Jet Centre name throughout the Caribbean,” said Signature CEO Mark Johnstone. “Our 2019 purchase of IAM Jet Centre has been a critical component of our Caribbean growth strategy, as we aim to extend consistent, exceptional aircraft handling services throughout the region.”
