The 10-year-old Citation Jet Pilots (CJP) Association is holding its annual convention this week in San Antonio, Texas, with record registrations and attendance, as well as about 60 exhibitors. CJP now has more than 1,000 members who fly some 600 Cessna Citations, said association CEO Andrew Broom.

In keeping with its foundation of education and safety, CJP will announce winners of its new Gold Standard Safety Award at the event. The award acknowledges members' attendance at training events and participation in proficiency improvements.

Ron Draper, Textron Aviation’s new president and CEO, welcomed CJP members to the convention. “We’re proud to be sponsors, and want to be where our customers are. We value your feedback and appreciate the fact that you buy and fly our products.”

Textron Aviation senior v-p of customer service and support Kriya Shortt assured CJP members that the company takes members’ feedback seriously. An important effort on this front has been improving billing practices at the company’s service centers. She said a “tiger team” has been formed to tackle billing issues and to facilitate same-day invoicing.

Shortt also unveiled a new customer rewards program, where Textron Aviation service center customers receive one point for every dollar spent. CJP members receive 10,000 points for signing up at the convention, and points can be traded for gifts.
