Embraer Bizjet Deliveries Rise in 3Q18, but Down YTD

Embraer Executive Jets delivered 24 aircraft in the third quarter, four more than it did in the same period last year. The just-ended quarter tally included 13 Phenom light jets (fifteen 300s and two 100s) and 11 Legacy “large” jets (three 450s, two 500s, and two 650s) versus 13 Phenoms (nine 300s and four 100s) and seven Legacys (two 450s, one 500, and four 650s) a year earlier.

However, Embraer’s business jet shipments in the first nine months lag the year-ago period by five aircraft. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer handed over the same number of Phenoms in the first three quarters of both years, but deliveries of large jets fell from 19 last year to 15 this year.

For the year, the company is still holding to projections of 105 to 120 business jet shipments for this year, roughly flat with 2017. To meet the lower end of this estimate, Embraer Executive Jets would have to deliver 50 aircraft in the fourth quarter—the exact amount it shipped in the final quarter of last year.

Milestones achieved by Embraer's business jet division in the third quarter include the first time the Phenom 100EV, Phenom 300E, and Legacy 650E were exhibited with full interiors (at LABACE in August) and the first Phenom 300E delivery in the Asia-Pacific region, it noted.
