Embraer Introduces Free Fleet-optimization Tool

Embraer has launched what it calls the "first analytics-based fleet optimization" product designed for corporate flight departments and is offering the free tool, backed by its analysts, to any business aviation operator. The OEM's FleetLogic offering combines years of data-driven analysis done largely for commercial aircraft sales campaigns, which depend on careful understanding of an operator's needs, costs, and missions. FleetLogic packages that expertise and applies it to the business-aviation environment, according to Embraer.

The formal rollout last week at NBAA's Leadership 2018 conference follows a "soft launch" period with several operators. Embraer's specialists work with corporate flight departments and consultants to analyze the complete operation—the aircraft being used, routes flown, maintenance programs, and more. The tool then makes recommendations on how to optimize the operation, from small changes in maintenance programs to wholesale shifts, such as considering fractional programs.

Embraer emphasized that it sees FleetLogic as a relationship tool, not a sales tool. The company acknowledged that recommendations could lead customers to make purchase decisions that might benefit Embraer. But FleetLogic's focus is to provide a service to corporate flight departments that helps them improve their existing operations and make smart fleet-planning decisions when adding or transitioning to different aircraft.
