MSB Design is showcasing signature interior components for business jets and executive airliners this week at at NBAA 2017, including its single pedestal Hi-Lo conference tables and galley inserts for china, crystal and flatware. The company is also debuting a prototype Hi-Lo table, co-developed with Rosen Aviation, that incorporates an attachment for a Rosen monitor, with no visible wiring. Moreover, the products are all being shown in MSB’s brand new display (Booth N4429).

The Montreal engineering and manufacturing firm, a division of France’s Sageclair Aerospace, also announced the appointment of Javier Fernandez as vice president of the North American business, replacing Mario Sevigny (the “MS” is MSB). In addition, it recently opened a production facility in Savannah, Georgia, to support the U.S. market in general and Gulfstream in particular. The company provides customized monuments for Gulfstream and will supply the glass racks for G500/600 galleys.

MSB’s Hi-Lo table is also standard equipment on the G500/600, Bombardier Global 5000/6000 and Embraer Lineage 1000E. The tables are also popular for aftermarket refurbishments of large-cabin business jets and bizliners.

According to Shannon Gill, MSB’s director of business development, dedicated design teams are key to the company's growth. The team that designs the galley inserts works only on galley equipment; another design group is dedicated to latching and other mechanisms; and another exclusively to monuments, enclosures and wardrobes. “They become perfectionists in that one product,” Gill said.

Additionally, the company understands the entire airframe and interior, so teams know how their designs must integrate with other cabin and aircraft systems. MSB has handled custom interior work ranging from a one-piece kit for an Embraer Phenom to kits comprising up to 250 pieces for a 747, Gill said.

Meanwhile, MSB is also developing with Rosen another Hi-Lo table with wireless charging capability built into the tabletop. Passengers can thus put an iPhone or iPad on the surface, and it will automatically begin charging. A production model of the recharging conference table could be available in six months to a year, said Gill, though no decision on whether to move forward on the design has been made.
