Lufthansa Technik Component Services plans to add 100 jobs in South Florida as it expands its customer service, account management and product sales center over the next few years. The company already employs 90 at its Miramar facility and 110 Floridians statewide.
Governor Rick Scott recently highlighted aviation's, and Lufthansa's, contribution to his state's economy, saying, “Florida’s aviation and aerospace industry is number one in the nation and companies like Lufthansa are expanding because of this thriving industry’s success. It’s exciting that Lufthansa has added more than 110 jobs in Florida and plans to add 100 more employees over the next few years. In the past two years, we have cut $1 billion in taxes, including eliminating the tax on manufacturing machinery and equipment, which will continue to diversify our economy and add more jobs.”
The expansion was made possible through partnerships between Enterprise Florida (EFI), Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and the city of Miramar. EFI, a partnership between Florida’s businesses and government leaders and the principal economic development organization for Florida, facilitates job growth through recruitment and retention, international trade and exporting, promotion of sporting events and capital funding programs to assist small and minority businesses.
