A British company is finding success selling its portable helicopter landing pads in the Middle East. Managing director Jonathan Vaughan claims that the lightweight Prima-tech helipads, developed from a heavy-duty roadway material, are “proving effective with humanitarian and peace-keeping agencies for use as instant roads, runways and hangar hard-standing in undeveloped or hostile terrain.” Vaughan has worked for several years on the design and development of the interlocking system, which is constructed of luminous lightweight plastic panels.
