U.S. Airlines Smell Opportunity To Push Political Agenda With “America First” Trump

The “America First” doctrine of new U.S. President Donald Trump has encouraged some U.S. airlines to believe that he may support their calls for market access blocks for some Gulf-state carriers like Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways. They have also resurrected demands for privatization of America’s air traffic control network, against a backdrop of Trump’s claims that the NextGen modernization project is too expensive and misguided.
