With the global advance of the Wuhan Coronavirus, organizers of the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exposition and NBAA are closely monitoring any impact its progression might have on the event scheduled for April 21 to 23 in Shanghai, China. So far, ABACE 2020 has not been canceled or postponed. “Our work with government and industry experts informs our continuing plans for ABACE 2020, which proceeds as planned, with informed decision-making,” NBAA spokesman Dan Hubbard told AIN.
Organizers have also established an FAQ page on the ABACE website that is updated regarding the impact of the virus first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China in December. According to the FAQ, all businesses in Shanghai’s regional government have been advised by its regional government to remain closed until February 9, while schools in the city have been suspended until February 17. Quarantine inspections for workers returning to the city have been strengthened as well, according to the FAQ.
“The safety and security of the participants at ABACE have always been the highest priority for the show’s organizers,” Hubbard added. “To ensure that standard, we are in continuing communication with industry and government authorities, in the U.S. and China, about the Wuhan Coronavirus [2019-nCoV], and are carefully monitoring their guidance, and all other available information about the situation.”
