Whirly-Girls, the industry non-profit organization with the mission of encouraging and educating current and future women helicopter pilots, is holding its 12th annual silent auction this week at HAI Heli-Expo in Las Vegas. New this year is the debut of an online auction platform. “This new format will allow participants to place bids online from anywhere, without having to download apps or software, or even come by our booth (C830) to raise their bids,” said Holley Gardel, the organization’s silent auction chair. “They can place proxy bids and set up notifications to easily keep track of the items they are interested in.”
Among the donated items available this year are David Clark and Lightspeed Aviation headsets, a ForeFlight flight planning subscription, a SpotGPS tracker, a Suunto watch, two CFI memberships from Helicopter Online Ground School, and several vacation packages. Bidding closes today at 2 p.m PT.
