Brook One Corporation, manufacturer of protective films for aerospace and aviation applications, has introduced two new lightweight thermal/acoustic insulation films formulated to meet aircraft fuselage burnthrough regulations. Designed to provide enhanced protection for passengers, crew and cargo in the event of an in-flight and/or post-crash fire, the BO 856B-I-LWT (metallic) and BO 856B-II-LWT (non-metallic) films are up to 15 percent lighter than standard weight protective films, according to the Toronto-based company.
They complement Brook One’s two standard weight burnthrough cover films designed for use in thermal/acoustic aircraft insulation blankets. All feature long “no burn through time” with low heat flux readings and retain their mechanical and chemical properties in high-temperature conditions.
