A text from the boss, highly unusual: “Check your email.” Must be something important, and indeed it is. He says I’m going to FlightSafety International’s Long Beach, Calif. learning center for a Gulfstream G550 type rating! I’m speechless, and enormously grateful for a fantastic opportunity. Little did I know what I was getting myself into, but I would soon learn.
