Jet Edge International, a Los Angeles-based large-cabin aircraft management, charter and maintenance company, now holds all four safety operational ratings—Argus Platinum, Wyvern Wingman, Wyvern ASAP and, just added, IS-BAO Stage 3. On the fleet front, the company has expanded its charter fleet serving the New York City area out of Teterboro Airport, adding three Gulftream GIV-SPs, four G200s, a G550 and a GV. This year alone the company has added 13 Gulfstreams to its domestic charter fleet.
It has also entered a $200 million supplier agreement with jet ride-sharing entity JetSmarter. The agreement is in addition to a $350 million commitment between the two companies made earlier this year.
“Because the ride-sharing market is an emerging industry segment with superior growth potential, we’ve decided to invest early alongside JetSmarter,” said Jet Edge CEO Bill Papariella. Ride-sharing and shuttle services on the Jet Edge charter fleet increased 40 percent in utilization this year alone, according to Papariella, and forecasts see the market expanding by 15,000 flight hours annually.
