Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing acquired the manufacturing rights from Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) for certain new JT15D engine components. Ontic specializes in extended life solutions for OEM legacy products. This is Ontic’s first acquisition from P&WC and will add to its portfolio of engine support capabilities, which includes the Rolls-Royce Dart and Honeywell 700-series APUs. According to the agreement with P&WC, Ontic will manufacture and sell select new JT15D components from its Chatsworth, Calif. facility and the parts will continue to be distributed through JT15D parts distributor Aviall Services.
"Ontic’s engineering, manufacturing and supply chain capabilities align closely with the special requirements associated with legacy products similar to the JT15D engine,” stated Gareth Hall, president and managing director of Ontic. “We see legacy engine support as the next logical progression and expansion of our service to our OEM partners. We are very pleased with our new relationship with P&WC.”
With more than 6,500 engines produced since the 1970s, the JT15D is used on a wide range of business aircraft, including the Cessna Citation II and the Beechjet 400 series.
