More than 100 Dassault Falcons have been upgraded with Cobham Satcom’s Aviator 700D system, a retrofit for the Aero-HSD+ that allows in-flight Wi-Fi and voice calls. The company said the datacom unit is a cost-effective replacement for existing Level-E Aviator 700 and Aero-HSD+ systems, requiring only minimal changes to the aircraft wiring and structure.

In addition, the certified solution is CPDLC and Fans 1/A compliant, bringing critical safety, navigational and performance data directly into the cockpit to reduce pilot workload, increase efficiency and improve overall operational safety. Providing both Inmarsat Classic and SwiftBroadband services in one integrated system, the 700D introduces high-speed data services using an HGA antenna for increased reliability and connectivity.

Dassault Falcon factory service centers have upgraded more than 65 Falcons to the Aviator 700D. As a FANS and SwiftBroadband solution, Dassault Falcon has certified the retrofit for legacy Falcons as part of the company’s next-gen programs. Cobham Satcom also has been selected by Dassault to supply the HGA-6000 satcom antenna for the new Falcon 5X and 8X.
