Jetcraft Avionics (Booth No. 4293) reports it expects, by year-end, STC approval of the first retrofit installation of the Kollsman enhanced-vision system II (EVS II) on a Bombardier Challenger 604.
The EVS II avionics retrofit, which improves situational awareness and allows lower landing minimums, is a complete turnkey system that includes the infrared sensor, associated EVS hardware and the Kollsman advanced technology head-up display (AT-HUD), which will be available next year. Cost of the system–dubbed the enhanced flight vision system (EFVS)–is about $1 million, including installation.
As the primary distributor of the Kollsman EFVS to various in-service aircraft, Jetcraft Avionics said it will be able to customize the installation to the unique needs of each aircraft type and its existing avionics.
