Fighting hunger isn’t synonymous with the word “airshow,” but the United Nations’ World Food Program (WFP) is aiming to change that. At an exhibit booth at the 2011 Dubai Air Show, the WFP is promoting its humanitarian aid programs, as well as how aircraft helps it achieve these missions. The WFP’s aviation unit is also in charge of aviation safety for all U.N. humanitarian programs. AIN sat down with Samir Sajet, the UAE regional aviation safety officer for the WFP, to learn more.
