Pratt & Whitney has enlisted IBM to improve the engine fleet management and health “solutions” the engine company offers its customers. Pratt, with IBM’s help, plans to broaden its current engine performance monitoring capabilities. Plans call for IBM to help Pratt & Whitney apply its military diagnostic, prognostic and health management capabilities to enable proactive and automated logistics to its expanding commercial fleet.
The engine company expects the collaboration to provide customers with longer time on-wing, complement current assent maintenance alerts and deliver better insight into flight operational data.
