Airbus Helicopters Delivers China’s First Fully Equipped Air Ambulance

On October 9 Airbus Helicopters delivered the first rotorcraft outfitted for dedicated HEMS missions in China. The 999 Center, a Beijing Red Cross Foundation subsidiary, took delivery of the EC135P2e–the first of an order for two–in Donauwörth, Germany. A delegation of doctors from the 999 Center is undergoing familiarization training in Augsbourg on Bucher-supplied equipment. “The relaxation of China’s low-altitude airspace augurs well for the development of HEMS,” said Norbert Ducrot, president of Airbus Helicopters China.
