Cessna’s recently certified Citation X+ set a number of recognized city-pair speed records as part of a two-day campaign, including a flight time of 4 hours 52 minutes from Seattle (Wash.) King County International Airport to Opa Locka (Fla.) Executive Airport near Miami. The Citation X+ departed Wichita Mid-Continent Airport for Seattle, before dashing the 2,364 nm to Miami, returning to Seattle and then back to Wichita. The westbound coast-to-coast flight took 5 hours 13 minutes and reached FL470. Over the four flights the Citation X+ averaged Mach 0.916, and the maximum airspeed was 543.9 ktas.
