The Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary as a representative for the interests of repair stations. When the association was formed in October 1984 its mission was to devote itself to representing civil aviation maintenance.
At this year’s Strategic Leadership Conference participants investigated public relations and international market development, and providing executive-level industry leaders a forum to explore the future of global aviation maintenance.
“The association really came into its own when it pulled its head up from the weeds of regulatory matters and recognized that many factors–politics and public opinion come to mind–impact the rulemaking process,” Christian Klein, ARSA’s executive vice president, told AIN. “We’re still experts in the regulations but now stand up for repair stations in all of these different areas. When our members’ businesses and the safety of the flying public are at stake, we’ve got a seat at every table,” he added.
