News-gathering service Helicopters, Inc., announced this week that it acquired the assets of Los Angeles-based Helinet Aviation, including 14 Eurocopter AS 350s and two Bell 206B3s.
In addition to the aircraft, the acquisition comprises contracts for 12 television news programs in Baltimore; Boston; Cleveland; Denver; Detroit; New York; Phoenix; San Francisco; and Sacramento, Calif., as well as 50 associated employees, including helicopter crews. Helinet will continue to honor contracts in the Los Angeles area.
St. Louis, Mo.-based Helicopters, Inc. operates a fleet of 80 helicopters for more than 65 television and radio stations in the U.S.
