Collins Aerospace’s forthcoming Pegasus hoist is expected to enter service in 2022. The clean-sheet design, fifth-generation hoist has been designed modularly to improve ease of maintenance and includes sensors that monitor its health. The cable can also be changed in under 10 minutes without special tools. The Pegasus hoist weighs 106 pounds with a cable movement speed of up to 400 feet per minute and a 600-pound required load.
