The National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA) is now the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA), it announced yesterday. The decision to rebrand resulted from a review of member activity that indicated dealers were operating globally. According to IADA, its broker members account for 3 percent of total dealers yet account for about 60 percent of the international used aircraft transactions market.
"International Aircraft Dealers Association brokers are experiencing vibrant markets around the world for used business aircraft. With this increased volume of transactions, it is more important than ever to pick qualified and experienced dealers to assist buyers and sellers of aircraft," said Brian Proctor, chairman of IADA and president and CEO of Mente Group.
Members of IADA are required to pass a strict certification process and abide by a 14-point code of ethics. Over the next few months, IADA will unveil a new website, search portal, and initiatives to streamline aircraft transactions. The organization will also be present next month at the NBAA Convention in Orlando, Florida, to support IADA members and clients.
