Pratt & Whitney to Move Systems to IBM Cloud

Pratt & Whitney has announced it will move its enterprise systems to the IBM Cloud infrastructure. The decision builds off an earlier agreement between the two companies through which IBM is assisting Pratt & Whitney to broaden its performance by monitoring commercial engines with the IBM analytics platform.

Philip Guido, general manager of IBM Services in North America, said, “IBM Cloud managed services will provide Pratt & Whitney with critical resources to manage, analyze and grow its infrastructure dynamically to accommodate the company’s growth. Pratt & Whitney will be able to gain greater insights across its operations as it builds understanding and learning into its information technology.”

Pratt & Whitney is expected to double engine production by 2020. The manufacturer has made investments in its own facilities, supply chain, technology and employees over the years. With help from IBM, Pratt & Whitney can process data and storage based on the company’s forecasted growth and meet increasing service demands.
