Italian Pilots Reveal How Lives Were Saved in Mediterranean Ferry Rescue

It took five helicopter units from the Italian air force, navy and coast guard to rescue the passengers and crew of the Norman Atlantic car ferry after it caught fire on a crossing from Greece to Italy in late December 2014. The story of how passengers and crew were hauled to safety is remarkable, with the incident representing the one of the largest helicopter rescue missions in history.
