International aviation services provider Global Jet (Booth P228) announced that it has formed Jinggong Global Jet Co. Ltd., a joint venture with China’s Jinggong Group, one of the China’s top-500 companies, to provide aircraft charter and management in China. The new company, based at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, has a staff of more than 20 management and service specialists as well as a technical support team. Industry veteran Franck Dubarry was named CEO, while Margaret Ma, who has been with Jinggong Group for more than two decades, was named chairman, indicating the melding of the two parent companies. “Our aim is to provide our customers with the local resources of Jinggong Group and the truly international experience of Global Jet,” said Dubarry.
Geneva, Switzerland-based Global Jet presently operates six aircraft under management in Asia: a Dassault Falcon 7X and Falcon 2000, a Gulfstream G450, a Bombardier Global Express XRS and a Global 6000 along with its latest addition, an Airbus ACJ319. The company earned its Chinese AOC last year, and expects to operate its first in-country charter flight this summer. It also recently opened an office in Hong Kong to support its existing Bejing facility.
