Sierra Nevada subsidiary 328 Design (328DO) has been awarded supplemental design organization approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates. The approval verifies that 328DO is in compliance with all regulatory requirements allowing changes and repairs approved for A6 (UAE) registered aircraft modifications. The designation has no avionics limitations and ranges from satcom installations to complete aircraft conversions. 328 is currently working on a range of aircraft, including narrow- and widebody aircraft and business jets.
Jörg Gorkenant, head of 328DO, said, “This is a great achievement for the company as this approval allows 328 to further expand its activities into the very valuable aerospace market in the Middle East.” 328DO already manages 200 STCs, and it expects that this approval will prove attractive to operators in the region. The company is based at Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich and employs more than 40 designers.
